Oracle to start out its blockchain platform this month
Oracle Corp. will launch its platform-as-a-service blockchain product this month and decentralized ledger-based applications next month, according to Thomas Kurian, company’s president of product development.
Bloomberg reports that the announcement was made on Monday at Oracle headquarters.
With this move Oracle joins other big corporations like Microsoft and IBM which have launched similar products.
Kurian announced that his company is cooperating with Banco de Chile to log inter-bank transactions on a hyperledger. The government of Nigeria, which has sought to document customs and import duties on blockchain, is another client.
It is reported that the world’s second-largest software company’s products will also be pitched to pharmaceutical companies to track and trace batches of medicine, which may potentially ease recalls.
Let us remind that Oracle unveiled its enterprise-grade blockchain cloud platform last year in October during OpenWorld 2017 conference in San Francisco.
