Smart Contract Activism: Hackathon During Consensus, Featuring Dr. Ron Paul, to Showcase How Blockchain Technology can Revolutionize Political Activism

We have all seen this infamous video of Brad Sherman threatening to ban cryptocurrencies all over crypto-Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Telegram.

Representative Sherman had some choice words for members of the cryptocurrency community who look to bring positive change and clarity to politics, banking, and most centralized industries. Sherman’s words, as non sequitur as they may be, represent a warning of things to come. While most of us are alarmed at Sherman’s ignorant rhetoric, likely paid for by big banks and lobbyists to undermine the decentralization movement, others in the community have decided to fight back in the best way that cryptocurrency knows how; through code.

Over the last few days, Smart Contract Activism, in partnership with other organizations, announced they are banding together to host an impromptu hackathon to combat this emerging threat. This hackathon will be attended by 12 term Congressman Dr. Ron Paul, and the goal of the hackathon will be to support the use of blockchain technology, smart contracts and oracles.

The person or team who develops the most innovative and practical application of smart contracts and oracles to promote political activism will receive a grand prize of 2,000 dollars in cryptocurrency.

Attendees and developers looking to make a difference in blockchain can register for this event at https://smartcontractactivism.com
