Tony Hawk to Speak at Bitcoin 2020

In a surprising twist, it appears that Tony Hawk, professional skateboarder, will be speaking at one of the most important conferences of the year for crypto, Bitcoin 2020. According to a tweet by Hawk himself, he is quoted saying ‘I have been riding it for 6 years. Haven’t bailed yet.’ The ‘it’ he is referring to is Bitcoin as this was a reply when shown a technical chart for Bitcoin. This means Hawk has held Bitcoin since 2013 when it was under $1000 and has continued to follow and support it.

The conference that Hawk will be attending and speaking at will be held in San Francisco on March 27 – 28th of next year. The official Twitter of Bitcoin 2020 tweeted out stating the following:

“For our next speaker announcement, we wanted a Bitcoiner who has taken a counterculture mainstream… Super stoked to announce Tony Hawk as that featured speaker! So @tonyhawk, will you ride this Bitcoin wave with us?”

To which Hawk replied:

“Looking forward to it! I’ve been riding the Bitcoin transitions for over 5 years now. Which reminds me… should I bring my ramp?”

This is great news for the awareness of cryptocurrency as a whole because Tony Hawk has a huge audience of 4.2 million Twitter followers and is known globally.

Since Hawk rose to fame he has always been loved by fans and many replied to the tweets excited about this upcoming event. Many replied to the tweet saying, ‘If you weren’t already awesome enough.’

Although there haven’t been any specifics on what the popular skater will be talking about, it is safe to assume there will be stories of how he first got involved in cryptocurrency and how he found it.
